The Toyo Open Country R/T Trail tires have received mixed reviews from customers, with both positive and negative aspects highlighted.
The Toyo Open Country R/T Trail tires offer a blend of on-road comfort and off-road capability. While many users appreciate their appearance, traction, and overall performance, some have concerns about vibrations and sidewall construction. The tires seem to be a good choice for those seeking a versatile option for both highway and off-road use, but potential buyers should be aware of the reported vibration issues and sidewall specifications.
Positive highlights
Attractive appearance with an aggressive look. Good overall traction and handling. Performs well in wet conditions. Relatively quiet for an off-road capable tire. Smooth ride for an E-rated tire. Made in the USA. Balances easily. Good performance in off-road conditions.
Negative highlights
Some users experienced significant vibrations at certain speeds. Only has a two-ply sidewall, which disappointed some customers expecting a three-ply design. Slightly noisier than some comparable tires.

Great tire
I put these on a Nissan Titan and they have been excellent so far. It might be my go to tire for this truck. Wet traction has been perfect. Off road use is all positive as well. The looks of them are fantastic. Noise is low for this style tire. Its just a gentle hum. They balance easily so no issues there. You really can't go wrong here. I can't comment to ware yet but we shall see.

So far so good!
Awesome looking tire with not much road noise. Haven't been off-roading with them as of yet. Very pleased so far, only about 2000 miles on them right now so can't give a complete review.

May return them for something else.
Let me start by saying I didn't purchase through simpletire but through a local installer.
Recently I found out one of my falken wildpeak at's were bad and couldn't be balanced anymore. The tires were about halfway worn so I decided to part ways with them and went with the toyo rt trail. The tire looks amazing. I've had them for about 2 weeks now and I have to say I'm a little disappointed. Overall traction seems good, as well as road noise and handling. One thing I just can't get over is the vibrations this tire is creating. They road force balanced perfect and are causing no balancing type vibration. But at 20mph and 65-70mph it feels like you're driving on the most aggressive mud tire or even almost rumble strips. It's very odd. The falkens were as smooth as could be, as they usually are. I assumed the rt's would be similar. I've had MT's that didn't cause this much annoyance. I'm Considering seeing if I can return them using Toyo's 45 day trial. But figured I'd share my experience here for the rest.

Staggered scalloped shoulder blocks offer more digging power in sand, mud, or uneven surfaces
Rugged-terrain tires, such as the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail, are designed for drivers who desire to combine extreme off-road performance with on-road traction and comfort in a single tire. Extra-thick shoulder and sidewall lugs on the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail offer better grip and protection from cuts, impacts, and punctures. In addition to improving wet braking and handling performance, its optimized tread pattern with large blocks improves off-road durability and traction, and two-wide circumferential grooves keep water out of the tread, reducing the risk of hydroplaning and increasing wet traction. While the staggered scalloped shoulder blocks provide increased digging force in the sand, mud, and uneven surfaces, its three variable pitch pattern lowers noise and enhances ride comfort. In addition, the Toyo Open Country R/T Trail has broad lateral zigzag grooves with stone ejectors to prevent stone drilling and promote self cleaning for consistent traction.
The Toyo Open Country R/T Trail is a rugged all-terrain designed for use on light trucks and SUVs.
Toyo Open Country R/T Trail tires are typically manufactured in Bartow County, Georgia. That being said, some Open Country R/T Trai tires could be made in other parts of the world.
